Mgr. Róbert Chriašteľ graduated in geochemistry and geology at the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, Faculty of Natural Sciences (1996). He attended post gradual courses in Israel and the Netherlands. His main field of expertise is groundwater quality monitoring and assessment. Róbert Chriašteľ coordinated preparation of the National Implementation Plan of the Stockholm Convention on POPs in the Slovak Republic and preparation of the National Monitoring Programme for Waters. He participated in many international projects focused on water management issues. He is a member of CIS WFD working group “Groundwater”. He works as a head of the Department of Hydrological Monitoring, Forecasts and Warnings at a regional branch of the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute in Banska Bystrica.
